Have you ever looked at a number and felt that there was something behind it? I don’t believe in numerology or anything of that sort, but I have always been fascinated by numbers. And no, math is not my strong point at all. I mean I am fascinated by a series of numbers. Like when you check your speedo in the car and it says 13333.33 or 12345.67 or it seems that every time you look at a clock it is the same time or. Or that a series of appointments, birthdays and so forth are all happening on the same date – regardless of the month.
Well this brings me to my 3:16 journey. I’m ashamed to admit it, but it took about two years for God to get through to me before I had the courage to listen and act. I believe God placed on my heart to write a devotional on every chapter 3 verse 16 in the Bible. I knew He was gently prodding me to do this, because everywhere I looked the numbers 3:16 were in my face. My heart truly believes that I have been asked to do this, so we can concrete our understanding of His love and purpose for our lives. I firmly believe this even when the verses seem random and, well when you check out some of them, harsh.
Maybe God chose 3:16 as, I’m pretty sure that, John 3:16 is the most well-known verse in the Bible – the ultimate promise of Love. Maybe He wanted us to realise that He has a message throughout His Word, a theme.
I hope that these devotionals will bring you closer to knowing the Love of our Father and are a gentle reminder of what it is that He did for us. I have drawn so much closer to my precious Father since doing these devotionals and I pray that there are some little snippets within here, that resonate with you and you can have your own ‘falling in love with Jesus’ moments too.
